Zoo Animal Camp
Tracy Crofoot
Grades K-5
Zoo Animal camp is a great summer activity for your animal enthusiast! Campers will go on a journey of discovery and learn about zoo animals by a former zoo keeper. They will learn about animal diets, habitats, and enrichment. Weather permitting, campers will get ‘back to nature’ by venturing outside making their own observations and discoveries just like a real zoologist! Campers will be making crafts every day, so play clothes are recommended.
Please bring Water bottle, sunscreen, and play clothes!

Hello, my name is Tracy and live in Farmington, MN. I grew up in a rural town of northern Wisconsin near Duluth, MN. I have two beautiful daughters aged 10 and 14 years. They are Girl Scouts and I volunteer for their troops. My pets include 1 cat and 4 guinea pigs. My hobbies are knitting, crocheting and crafting. I love to go camping and hiking to get out into nature. I have a passion for conservation, animals, science and the environment. My favorite animals as a child were whales and dolphins, and I always dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. I decided to attend college at the University of WI-Superior, where I majored in aquatic biology. After college, I got my first job as a Zookeeper Aide at the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth. I then met my husband and we moved to the Twin Cities. Most recently, I was employed at the Minnesota Zoo where I’ve been a Bird and Mammal Zookeeper, a Llama Trek Naturalist and a Butterfly Zoologist. I love educating people about passions, especially science and the natural world.
