Special Olympics Minnesota

Participants Ages 8 and up

Corn hole, also known as bags or sack toss, is a game where players or teams take turns throwing bean bags at a corn hole board. The game is easy to learn, making it a popular recreational activity. Corn hole is a fun activity that is great for people of all ages and abilities. 

We offer competitive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in activities based on Special Olympics guidelines. The programs are developed in partnership with Community Education and the Tigers, a Special Olympics of Minnesota team, serving individuals aged 8 and older. Additionally, we provide year-round sports training and competitive opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, along with some unified programs with typical volunteers. Through athletic, health, and leadership initiatives, we aim to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in fostering personal growth, enriching their communities, and making a positive impact in the wider world.

Regional Competition: September 12
State Competition is planned for October 10, but since we do not have a coach at this time, we are not currently planning to attend unless circumstances change.

Unified Athletes

This sport offers a Unified gameplay. Participants without intellectual disabilities can participate and compete on the same team. This is a voluntary role. Unified Athletes must complete a training found online, by clicking here. Unified Athletes 18 years and older are required to do a background check.
