Special Olympics Minnesota - Poly Hockey (Ages 8+)
Poly hockey
Special Olympics Minnesota
Participants Ages 8 and up
Poly Hockey is a family of indoor hockey games, usually in the style of ice hockey, that are played on flat floor surfaces. As in other hockey codes, players on each team attempt to shoot a puck into a goal using sticks.
We offer competitive opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in activities based on Special Olympics guidelines. The programs are developed in partnership with Community Education and the Tigers, a Special Olympics of Minnesota team, serving individuals aged 8 and older. Additionally, we provide year-round sports training and competitive opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, along with some unified programs with typical volunteers. Through athletic, health, and leadership initiatives, we aim to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in fostering personal growth, enriching their communities, and making a positive impact in the wider world.
Participants will be placed in a division by the Special Olympics Minnesota, based on ability level and age to give them a competitive experience.
Additional paperwork is required in order to participate in this sport. The Head of Delegation will reach out to athletes after registration with these forms. Click here to see you qualify as an athlete.
Fee Assistance is available for participants. If needed, please complete the following form: https://bit.ly/CE192FeeAssistance.
Regionals and State TBD
The Regional and State Competitions are optional for participants. In order to attend state, participants must compete in Regionals. More information will be shared at practice.
**Program tuition price is subsidized with Special Olympics Minnesota Funding
