Young Rembrandts Does your child have a great sense of humor to complement their artistic skills? If so, they’ll love a Young Rembrandts Cartoon class! Students explore the exciting world of cartooning while learning how artists exaggerate shapes, expressions, and movement to bring characters to life. From the bold lettering of Big Words to action-packed drawings like Soccer in Action and imaginative Candy Characters, students stretch their creativity while strengthening drawing technique, exaggeration, and storytelling skills. This lively workshop encourages creative thinking while helping students build confidence in their artistic abilities and develop their own cartoon style.

Tracy Crofoot Grades K-5 Creepy Crawly Creatures camp is a great fall activity for your nature enthusiast! Campers will go on a journey of discovery and learn about nature’s most undesirable creatures. They will learn about creatures that are often thought of as pests, but really are beneficial to our environment. Weather permitting, campers will get ‘back to nature’ by venturing outside making their own observations and discoveries just like a naturalist! Campers will learn more about becoming a Citizen Scientist and how they can contribute to conservation too.

DASH Sports Grades K-4 DASH Sports basketball camps provide players a well-rounded basketball experience covering a broad range of skills training and skill-based games. Players will be taught how to properly shoot, pass, dribble, and play defense in a fun and positive environment. Athletes should bring a water bottle. Basketballs are provided.

DASH Sports After School Cheer Grades K-4 DASH Sports Cheer camps provide athletes with an introduction to cheerleading. Campers will learn several cheers with focus on body control, jumping, & proper movements. Emphasis will be placed on sportsmanship, teamwork, & a positive attitude! Campers should bring a water bottle & wear athletic clothing & shoes.

DASH Sports After School Flag Football Grades K-4 DASH Sports flag football camps provide players with a well-rounded football experience in a little to no contact safe environment. Key elements of passing, catching, rushing, and defense will be taught and practiced, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage the final day. Athletes should bring a water bottle (spikes/cleats and mouthguards are optional). Footballs and flag belts are provided.

DASH Sports Grades K-5th DASH Sports volleyball camps provide players with a well-rounded experience in a fun environment. Key volleyball skills such as passing, serving, and hitting will be taught and practiced. Fun, volleyball skill specific games are also incorporated, giving players game type experience, and a better understanding of the game! Athletes should bring a water bottle and nut free snack. Knee pads are optional. Balls are provided.

Drum Club is open for Farmington Elementary 4th-5th graders only. Drum Club will allow students to explore drumming and other percussion instruments, improve music reading skills, learn music of various cultures, interpret music through expression, and have a blast drumming! The final Drum Club practice will include a parent preview. Sarah Anderson teaches K-5 general music at Farmington Elementary. She has been teaching for 14 years, 8 at FES. Sarah has her Master of Arts in music education from the University of St. Thomas, and she has a passion for drumming and world music.

Tracy Crofoot Grades 3-7 Hey kids! Do you want to learn about fiber arts and have fun too? Join instructor Tracy and learn the history of fiber arts, how to weave, finger knit, and wet felt. You can make the projects for yourself or give as a gift to someone special. Soap and water are used during the process of wet felting, so creating may get a little messy. Natural animal wools that contain lanolin may be used and could cause itchiness to some individuals. Project supplies will be provided.

Music Appreciation Join Mr. Charlie for a fun and engaging journey through the world of music in this after-school enrichment class designed for students in grades 1–5 at Riverview Elementary. In Music Appreciation, students will explore how music has evolved across time, cultures, and styles, and discover the stories behind the songs and artists they know and love. Students will learn about music history in an age-appropriate and interactive way, including how different genres developed, what influenced composers and musicians, and how historical events, culture, and technology shaped the music we hear today. Through listening activities, discussions, games, and other outlets, students will build a deeper understanding of music as both an art form and a reflection of the world around us. By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize different musical styles, describe basic influences on artists and genres, and develop a greater appreciation for the role music plays in everyday life and throughout history.
