ACT Prep Class1- Academic, Health, & SafetyACT Prep ClassesAdvantage Educational ProgramsGrades 10-12 The ACT Preparatory Courses are designed for those who wish to improve their test-taking skills and their overall scores on the college entrance exams. The course includes diagnostic testing, strategies for answering questions in all testing areas, instruction in time management, essay writing, and more. Youth can choose to attend classes located at Farmington High School, online, or at other area schools. In-School Course Students preferring the traditional teaching format with an in-person instructor should choose this course. It consists of four, three-hour classes, meeting at a specific location, one day a week. Students who miss a class will be provided with access to recorded virtual online instruction. Tuition for the 12-hour ACT in-person course is $180, with all class materials included. Students can make up any class they miss at other available class locations and may also REPEAT any of the ACT prep courses by requesting the Self-Paced ACT Prep Course at no additional charge. Math by Mail - Completed Grades K-61- Academic, Health, & SafetyMath by Mail - Completed Grades K-6Jill Yeager MA EdFor students who have completed grades K-6 in the 25-26 school year Course materials will be sent out the week of June 3, please expect to receive them by mid June. No registrations accepted after June 30, 2026. Summer Math is not a tutoring program and it is not an enrichment program to advance students ahead. It offers practice of previously learned concepts to keep skills sharp and build confidence. When all lessons are completed, students will receive a certificate of achievement and restaurant meal coupon. Completed Grades Kindergarten-1st K-One Summer Math by Mail has been developed to review and enrich math concepts for kindergarteners and first graders. It offers practice of previously learned concepts to keep skills sharp and build confidence through "pen-pal" style correspondence. It is not a tutoring program and it is not designed to advance students ahead. Participants will receive a pretest to determine math skills and individualize their program. Then they will receive nine weeks of lessons. After they have completed a week’s worth of work, mail it in, and we’ll make corrections, provide comments, and mail it back! Students work at their own pace. Kids love receiving their returned assignments each week in the mail! When all lessons are completed, students will receive a meal coupon. Completed Grades 2nd-6th Keep your math skills sharp over the summer! This 10-week correspondence program was developed by a veteran teacher. Materials that students will cover during the summer review support concepts they have encountered during their previous school year. Summer Math is not a tutoring program and it is not an enrichment program to advance students ahead. It is a "pen-pal" style correspondence program and offers practice of previously learned concepts to keep skills sharp and build confidence. Students will take a pre-test and fill out a questionnaire to individualize their program. Students will then receive nine weeks of materials. Each week’s packet will include five math lessons with problem-solving activities. The activities will apply to a specific math concept or strand. After the student has completed a packet, they will mail it in. We’ll make corrections, provide feedback and mail it back. Middle School Girls Interscholastic Volleyball 2026 - 8thInterscholastic SportsMiddle School Girls Interscholastic Volleyball 8th Grade (currently 7th grade) Farmington Community Education offers middle school interscholastic (against other middle schools) programs - including volleyball. The interscholastic girls' volleyball program has two 7th grade teams and separately has two 8th grade teams - made up of a combination of girls from Boeckman and Dodge middle schools. There are 14 practice days at Boeckman and 10 matches against other middle schools (like Lakeville, Northfield, New Prague, and more). The purpose of interscholastic programs is participation, involvement, and development of skills beneficial for future success. These skills include Leadership, Teamwork, Communication, Cooperation, Loyalty, Goal Setting, Work Ethic, Organization, Self-Discipline, Perseverance, and of course Sportsmanship. Adults lead practices and coach at matches. Registrations are limited in an attempt to just have one A-team and one B-team for each grade. There is a separate registration for 7th grade and 8th grade. Each one will have a waiting list in the event that someone from that grade cancels after having registered. Practices will take place at Boeckman Middle School from 4:00-5:30 pm. Dodge Middle School students take the after school activity bus over to Boeckman. Home matches will take place at Boeckman Middle School. Usually one "home" match goes from about 4:15-5:15 and a second goes from about 5:25-6:25 on that same day. Drivers Education (2025-2026)1- Academic, Health, & SafetyA+ Driving School Students may start classroom driving lessons at age 14, take the Knowledge Test and obtain their Instruction Permit at age 15, and take the Road Test and obtain their Provisional License at age 16. To be eligible to take the Road Test, students must have had their Instruction Permit for a minimum of six months. Registration for A+ Driving School. Click here to go to the site to register. Once you go to the A+ Driving website you will then select in-person classes, virtual, or self-paced online. If you are in need of Fee Assistance, please use the link provided below to apply, before registering for a class. The Driver's Education Program is divided into two phases: Classroom Phase This phase includes the required 30 hours of classroom instruction that prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and to take on the responsibility of driving. If a lesson is missed, a make-up lesson can be arranged with the office at either the next Farmington session or at another A+ session. This portion can be taken virtually or in-person. Behind-the-Wheel PhaseAfter students pass the permit test, they are required to complete six hours of driving lessons. The lessons are provided in three, two-hour lessons. The lessons are one-on-one instruction with instructors licensed through the MN Dept. of Public Safety. Students can be picked up from and dropped off at home, school or work. Detailed information about scheduling the behind-the-wheel lessons will be provided by A+. Please note: you can only schedule these one at a time and they may be booked out a month or so. Can't Make Every Lesson? If you miss a lesson, you are responsible for making up that exact lesson number. You can attend any A+ classroom or any community education program to make up a missed lesson. Please call A+ the office the day before so we can add the student to the attendance roster. Disclaimer: This contract expires 2 years from the first day of classroom training or when the student turns 18, whichever occurs first. All classes and BTW lessons must be completed before the expiration date.
