We will discuss how to use all your senses in a new destination to create more detailed and in-depth descriptions that capture and maintain readers’ interest, and whether or not you need to include photos with your work. You will also learn how to find and submit your finished product to print and online markets, the business side of travel writing (how to take travel tax deductions), and how to avoid worn-out travel writing cliches. Led by Competition Cheer Coaches Ages 3-Grade 5 Do you have lots of spirit? Want to learn what it takes to become a cheerleader? Athletes will learn the proper technique for cheer jumps, arm motions, cheers, stunts, dance and tumbling basics. Learn a short routine and be part of a group! This class is a great opportunity to get a taste of what competitive cheer is like, without the commitment or cost, and no experience is required! The class will perform their routine at the Farmington Competition Cheer Home Meet on Saturday, November 22. A t-shirt and bow is included. All abilities are welcome to join us for an action packed camp and learn western, English, and bareback riding, horsemanship, groundwork, and training. Choose to attend one day or both days! Participants begin their days with horsemanship skill development, followed by horse training. Connecting & partnering with the horses is emphasized throughout each day. Laurel Severson Learn to create the rolled Norwegian cookie, Krumkakes, made with cream, butter and cinnamon, and sometimes flavored with vanilla. For generations, Minnesotans have purchased their irons to bake krumkakes from local manufacturer Nordic Ware in St. Louis Park. Italian Pizzelles are also baked on the top of the stove using an iron but are a flat, anise-flavored cookie or they also may be flavored with vanilla. The chewy, almond Swedish Sandbakkelse are delicate golden brown in color and are baked in tiny tins to resemble tarts. Finally, we will aster deep fried Rosettes - those exceedingly fragile, paper thin Scandinavian delicacies dusted with confectioners' sugar. Expect great recipes plus the many tips and techniques that will make your baking a success! Please bring containers to bring your creations safely home.

Furniture Weaving Workshop Discover the art of furniture weaving in this hands-on class designed for beginners and DIY enthusiasts alike! In this two-hour workshop, participants will learn foundational weaving techniques used to restore or refresh woven furniture pieces such as chairs, stools, and small accent items. Because each project is unique, participants are required to contact the instructor in advance with a photo and brief description of the furniture piece they plan to bring. This allows time to determine suitability, provide any necessary preparation instructions, and ensure the project will be a good fit for the class. During the session, you will begin the weaving process and learn the core techniques needed to continue your project at home. While pieces will not be fully completed in the two-hour class, participants will leave with the skills, structure, and momentum needed to confidently finish independently.
