There are 14 practice days at Boeckman and 10 matches against other middle schools (like Lakeville, Northfield, New Prague, and more). The purpose of interscholastic programs is participation, involvement, and development of skills beneficial for future success. These skills include Leadership, Teamwork, Communication, Cooperation, Loyalty, Goal Setting, Work Ethic, Organization, Self-Discipline, Perseverance, and of course Sportsmanship. Adults lead practices and coach at matches. Registrations are limited in an attempt to just have one A-team and one B-team for each grade. There is a separate registration for 7th grade and 8th grade. Each one will have a waiting list in the event that someone from that grade cancels after having registered. Practices will take place at Boeckman Middle School from 4:00-5:30 pm. Dodge Middle School students take the after school activity bus over to Boeckman. Home matches will take place at Boeckman Middle School. Usually one "home" match goes from about 4:15-5:15 and a second goes from about 5:25-6:25 on that same day.
